How do I use the bikezone?

1. Tap your OPUS card on the card reader.

The door will open.

2. Place your bike on a rack.

The racks are easy to use.

3. Lock your bike with a U-shaped lock

This is the most secure type of lock.

4. Attend to your business

Return to pick up your bike when you are ready. Don’t forget that all bikezones are closed at 3 a.m.

First-come, first-served!

Please note that the bikezone is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Plenty of outdoors bike racks

Bike racks

You will find bike racks at most train station and bus terminal park-and-ride facilities.

More bicycle stands are available at various locations on the sidewalks of the municipalities served by exo. They are managed by the municipality or borough which they belong to. Find out more by visiting the website of the applicable municipality or borough.

Answers to the most frequently asked questions

  1. Your access to the bikezone is valid for the same period of time as your OPUS card. When your OPUS card expires, you must register for the bikezone anew. This means that students have to renew their registration every year.

  2. To give all users a chance to use the bikezone, and to ensure its maintenance, we require that you remove your bike at the end of the day. Bikes left for more than 48 consecutive hours in the bikezone risk being removed by our personnel.

  3. No. Only people who are registered and hold an access key on their OPUS card can use the bikezone. All other people must use an outdoor rack. To maintain security at the bikezone, do not allow people without an access key to enter the bikezone when you are going in or coming out.

  4. For the bikezones at the Sainte-Julie terminal, contact our customer service department at 514-287-8726 between 6 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, and between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays. We will correct the situation as quickly as possible. Please note that no assistance will be provided outside of business hours and that access to the bikezone is not possible between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. For the bikezone located on the Université de Sherbrooke campus in Longueuil, contact the security agent on site at 450-463-1835, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  5. The first-come, first-served principle applies. If no bike rack is available in the bikezone, you must lock your bike on an outdoor rack.
